A graphic tradition that started in Harajuku

The Japanese graphic tee earned its place in global streetwear in the 1990s, when Harajuku turned the oversized t-shirt into a canvas for everything — anime references, ukiyo-e reproductions, kanji typography, yokai folklore, gothic prints, gaming aesthetics. Brands like A Bathing Ape, Neighborhood and Comme des Garçons gave the format its modern status. Today, the Japanese tee is one of the most recognizable streetwear codes in the world. Our collection draws from that lineage — graphic-first, oversized, confident, and made to be worn often rather than archived.

What's inside the collection

63 designs across the full range of Japanese visual culture. Folklore and mythology — Hannya masks, kitsune fox spirits, koi carp, oni demons, dragons. Historical figures — Date Masamune, Oda Nobunaga, Miyamoto Musashi, Tomoe Gozen, each with kanji references tied to their legacy. Pop culture and anime aesthetic — cyberpunk samurai, Tokyo neon, Harajuku kawaii, ramen and sushi food culture. Classical art — Hokusai's Great Wave reproductions, ukiyo-e prints, traditional wagara patterns. Calligraphy and kanji typography for those who prefer the quiet end of the spectrum.

How to wear a Japanese graphic tee

The format is genuinely versatile. Worn alone with straight-leg denim, cargos or wide-leg pants for a clean Tokyo street look. Layered under an open haori jacket, a sukajan or a happi coat for cooler days. The oversized cut works as a summer piece on its own, or as a graphic anchor under outerwear in winter. One styling rule: when the shirt carries a strong graphic — a full ukiyo-e scene, a multicolor yokai, a detailed warrior portrait — keep the rest of the outfit quiet. Solid bottoms, minimal accessories, the graphic does the work.

Designed unisex, sized for everyone

Every Japanese tee in the collection is cut unisex, with an oversized silhouette that flatters a wide range of body types. Sizes run from S to 2XL. Women looking for a relaxed graphic tee will find this cut works as well as fitted alternatives — particularly the Sakura, Geisha, Butterfly and Kawaii designs, which have strong followings across genders.
