The garden lantern raised tall on a rock-look pedestal
This lantern is a tall pedestal tōrō, raised on a slender column above a round footed base, finished in a gray granular surface that convincingly echoes carved garden stonework style. The taller proportions give it a more formal, temple-approach presence than the squat ground lanterns.
The elevated design is the appeal: the light chamber sits high on its column, pagoda roof and finial on top, so the lantern reads almost like a small monument.
