The black kimono that lets the camellias do everything
Black ground, loud flowers — the contrast carries it. Tsubaki strews red and cream camellias with green leaves and a few deep-blue sit across a black satin-finish ground, the flowers reading clear and high-contrast against the dark. The camellia flowers in winter when little else does, so it lands as a cold-season flower with presence.
The lightweight, satin-finish fabric gives the black a sheen and lets the camellias and leaves sit clear against it, the cloth falling in that fluid kimono-robe way. The flowers do the work against the dark; the ground stays out of their way.
A sash shapes the long line at the waist and frames the scattered flowers. Its matching obi is included, ready to wrap. It's styled here with a folding fan in hand to show how dressed-up it can look — note the fan is for styling only and isn't part of the set.
