The furoshiki dreaming in lilac and cherry blossom
This furoshiki sets large cherry blossoms across a soft lilac ground, the flowers opening in white, pink and fuchsia among smaller blue blooms and curling gold-edged ribbons. The name yume means dream, and the gentle mauve background does give the whole cloth a soft, dreamlike quality.
The blossoms are generous and full, their petals shaded from white to deep fuchsia and outlined in fine gold, with little blue flowers and gold filigree filling the spaces between. The exceptions are t-shirts and hoodies, which run true to size, so take your usual size for those. Materials vary from piece to piece — some are 100% cotton, others polyester, satin-finish, or a blend, depending on the design. You'll find the exact composition in the product description above, and it's always printed on the inner label of the garment itself. When the two ever differ, trust the label.
A little care goes a long way with these pieces. To keep colors deep and fabric intact:
- Machine wash cold, 30°C / 86°F maximum — heat is what fades and shrinks
- Turn the garment inside out and wash with similar colors
- Use a gentle cycle and mild detergent; skip the fabric softener on printed or embroidered pieces
- Do not bleach
- Hang to dry in the shade — avoid the tumble dryer, which is the fastest way to ruin the fit
- Iron on low heat if needed, and always inside out over prints or embroidery
- For anything delicate or unusual, follow the inner label first
