The peacock kimono on the deepest blue of the set

Among the peacocks, this is the one that goes deep. Kujaku sets the bird on a royal-blue satin-finish ground — a saturated sapphire-to-cobalt that sits deeper than the turquoise and richer than the sky-blue — with white plum blossom and a distant pagoda around it. The blue is what separates it from the rest of the family.

The lightweight, satin-finish fabric gives the royal blue a deep sheen and lets the peacock's colours and the white blossom lift off it, the long cut carrying the full sweep of the tail. It falls fluid rather than structured. Kujaku is simply the Japanese word for peacock, and few grounds suit the bird's colours like a blue this saturated.

A matching sash gathers the waist in the same blue, keeping the look unified, and shapes the long line. Its obi is included, ready to wrap.

Wear it where deep colour and a full-back bird are the point — a celebration, a shoot, a dressed-up night. The white plum blossom is spaced across the deep blue rather than crowded, so each cluster stays clear and the pagoda reads as a distant point behind the bird.

For the woman who wants her peacock on the deepest blue. One size, cut long with a generous, wrap-front fit.

  • Japan Clothing is inspired by Japan, not made in Japan — and we want you to know it. Every piece in our collection draws from Japanese culture, design, and street style: from the energy of Tokyo's neighborhoods to the calm of Kyoto's workshops, from the prints of vintage textiles to the silhouettes of modern streetwear. We translate that inspiration into clothing designed for daily wear, anywhere in the world.

Our pieces are produced through manufacturing partners in Asia who share our standards for quality and craft. The exact composition of each piece is listed on its product page and inner label.

We don't sell an origin. We share a spirit.
