The sukajan where the wind god carries his storm bag
This sukajan brings out an old god. Fūjin, the wind deity, hauls his great bag of gales across the back, embroidered in gold and warm tones with flashes of red against deep black, a small colourful motif on the chest of the reverse. One of Japan's most ancient figures, rendered with a vintage souvenir-jacket richness.
The embroidery is detailed and warm. Worked in real relief with the sheen of true thread, the golden wind god stands off the satin-finish shell, his wind bag and robes picked out in fine stitching, the red accents giving it heat. It's a characterful, slightly antique-feeling back piece — myth with a worn-in soul.
It's a mostly-black jacket with the wind god across the back and a small bright motif on the front. The build is classic sukajan: a ribbed collar, snap-button front and ribbed cuffs and hem, in a smooth, light satin-finish fabric that drapes rather than stiffens.
