A Navy Cotton Yukata with Dense Chrysanthemum Print
Aoigiku translates as "blue chrysanthemum" — and the name fits. A deep navy ground is covered edge to edge with stylized chrysanthemums in cobalt, lavender, white, and small bursts of red at their centers. The print has the density of a Meiji-period textile, where the eye finds new flowers in every fold. A piece that does not whisper.
The traditional yukata cut runs straight from shoulder to ankle, with full-length sleeves that catch the air. At 163 cm, the kimono sits at the ankle on most wearers, slightly trailing for shorter heights — the classical proportions of formal women's yukata. The included obi adds a soft pink contrast that lifts the dense floral palette.
The set arrives as two pieces — the yukata and a matching wide obi belt, ready to wear out of the box.
Aoigiku works at its best during summer — the cotton breathes, the navy stays cool against the skin, and the floral density makes a strong visual statement at festivals and warm-weather gatherings.
