Japanese embroidery — nihon shishu — is a centuries-old craft of building images in fine thread, dense and luminous, once reserved for ceremonial garments. This cap borrows that spirit for a koi-pond scene, the fish that symbolize perseverance circling in stitched water.
The front carries a detailed embroidered koi-pond motif, the fish and ripples worked in colored thread for depth and relief. It's the most craft-forward piece in the range — a small textile artwork sitting where a logo usually goes. The stitch sits raised against the twill, catching light where a flat print would simply lie there dull.
Colorways run Black, Light Blue, White and Stone. Black gives the pond drama and depth; Light Blue ties it to water; White and Stone keep it clean. The cap stays unstructured and low-profile. The exceptions are t-shirts and hoodies, which run true to size, so take your usual size for those. Materials vary from piece to piece — some are 100% cotton, others polyester, satin-finish, or a blend, depending on the design. You'll find the exact composition in the product description above, and it's always printed on the inner label of the garment itself. When the two ever differ, trust the label.
A little care goes a long way with these pieces. To keep colors deep and fabric intact:
- Machine wash cold, 30°C / 86°F maximum — heat is what fades and shrinks
- Turn the garment inside out and wash with similar colors
- Use a gentle cycle and mild detergent; skip the fabric softener on printed or embroidered pieces
- Do not bleach
- Hang to dry in the shade — avoid the tumble dryer, which is the fastest way to ruin the fit
- Iron on low heat if needed, and always inside out over prints or embroidery
- For anything delicate or unusual, follow the inner label first
