The kimono hiding a skull inside a riot of flowers
Look once and it's a lush garden of peonies, a peacock and bright blooms; look again and a skull resolves out of the petals at the centre of the back. This skull kimono plays the old vanitas trick — beauty and mortality in the same image — in vivid, full Japanese colour.
The double-take is the design, and the colour sells it. Reds, greens, blues and the peacock's eye-feathers crowd the back, the lustrous satin-finish cloth making them glossy and rich, with deep violet bands framing the front opening. The more you look, the more the skull and the flowers trade places.

- Machine wash cold, 30°C / 86°F maximum — heat is what fades and shrinks
- Turn the garment inside out and wash with similar colors
- Use a gentle cycle and mild detergent; skip the fabric softener on printed or embroidered pieces
- Do not bleach
- Hang to dry in the shade — avoid the tumble dryer, which is the fastest way to ruin the fit
- Iron on low heat if needed, and always inside out over prints or embroidery
- For anything delicate or unusual, follow the inner label first
