The peach umbrella of a woman holding a fan
This umbrella sets a graceful figure against spring. Across a soft peach-apricot ground, a woman in a flowered kimono holds a folding fan striped in red and yellow, branches of fuchsia cherry blossom arching above her, all drawn in the graceful lines of a classic ukiyo-e print. Figure, fan and blossom together make a complete spring scene.
The composition is rich in detail: the woman's kimono is scattered with small flowers, her hair dressed traditionally, the striking red-and-yellow fan a bright focal point in her hands, and the fuchsia blossom branches framing the top of the dome. The warm peach ground ties it all together softly. The bright red-and-yellow fan is the single boldest note in the soft peach scene.
It's a traditional wagasa, with a paper canopy stretched over slender bamboo ribs spreading from a red-painted center hub. Held overhead, the peach scene glows through the paper, the bamboo spokes radiating around the figure and her fan.
Blending portrait and blossom, the design is among the most storybook in the collection, a favorite for photography and traditional dress. As a decorative and ceremonial parasol, it's made to be carried and admired rather than used in the rain.
Built on a bamboo handle with an 80 cm canopy and a light 250 g body, it's crafted in the traditional way with an eco-minded approach. A spring-portrait parasol for anyone who loves classic figures framed in blossom.
Twirled overhead, the blossom branches frame the figure and her bright fan in a full spring scene that photographs beautifully for portraits and events. Kept out of the rain and handled with care, the painted paper holds its storybook charm through season after season of decorative use.

Our pieces are cut to Asian sizing, which runs smaller than US sizing — so as a rule, order one size up from your usual size. The exceptions are t-shirts and hoodies, which run true to size, so take your usual size for those. Every product page has its own size chart with exact measurements taken flat, so you can compare against a piece you already own. Still caught between two sizes? Email support@japan-clothing.com and a real person will help you pick the right one.

Materials vary from piece to piece — some are 100% cotton, others polyester, satin-finish, or a blend, depending on the design. You'll find the exact composition in the product description above, and it's always printed on the inner label of the garment itself. When the two ever differ, trust the label.
A little care goes a long way with these pieces. To keep colors deep and fabric intact:
- Machine wash cold, 30°C / 86°F maximum — heat is what fades and shrinks
- Turn the garment inside out and wash with similar colors
- Use a gentle cycle and mild detergent; skip the fabric softener on printed or embroidered pieces
- Do not bleach
- Hang to dry in the shade — avoid the tumble dryer, which is the fastest way to ruin the fit
- Iron on low heat if needed, and always inside out over prints or embroidery
- For anything delicate or unusual, follow the inner label first
Treated right, these pieces hold their shape, color and detail wash after wash.

Japan Clothing is inspired by Japan, not made in Japan — and we'd rather you hear it from us. Every piece draws from Japanese culture, design and street style: the energy of Tokyo's backstreets, the calm of a Kyoto workshop, the prints of vintage textiles, the cut of modern streetwear. We translate that inspiration into clothes built for daily wear, anywhere in the world.
The pieces themselves are produced by manufacturing partners in Asia. The exact composition of each one is listed on its product page and printed on the inner label — no guesswork, no fine print.
We don't sell you an origin. We share a spirit.
