A White Cotton Kimono with Lavender Peony Print and Burgundy Obi
Botan means peony — the flower the Japanese call "the king of flowers" and one of the most celebrated motifs in classical kimono design. The Botanko renders peonies in lavender and soft gray on a clean white cotton ground, with golden centers that catch the eye and pale shading that gives the petals a watercolor quality.
