Women's Pink Pleated Hakama Skirt with Chiffon Overlay and Side Bow

Pinkugakatta means tinged with pink — pinku for pink, gakatta meaning slightly coloured, that soft dusty rose between blush and powder. The skirt builds on the hakama silhouette and lifts it: knife pleats running from waist to hem, a sheer chiffon overlay that catches light and movement, a side bow tied at the waist as a quiet reference to the traditional koshi-ita and obi tie. The overall effect sits closer to a tea-house garden than to a martial-arts dojo.

The cut is high-waisted with a structured band, fastening with a side zip and finished with a self-tie bow. The pleats fall to just below mid-calf and the chiffon underlayer adds a second moving layer that floats slightly behind the body. The fabric is a polyester chiffon with a soft drape, smooth against the skin, easy to layer. Sizes run S, M, L and XL; the silhouette stays fitted at the waist, full at the hem, never bulky.

You get the skirt as a single piece. The colour holds its tone through regular wear and gentle hand-washing. No costume packaging, no plastic accessory clutter — just one garment, ready to be folded into your wardrobe alongside the rest of what you actually wear.

Wear it with a white blouse tucked in and Mary-Jane shoes for a Kyoto-spring feel, or with a cream knit and small heels for evening. It pairs as easily with bare ankles and ballet flats as it does with sheer tights and ankle boots when the weather turns. There are two Japans in every wardrobe; this one leans toward the soft-edged side — first hanami afternoon, slow tea, no hurry.

  • Japan Clothing is inspired by Japan, not made in Japan — and we want you to know it. Every piece in our collection draws from Japanese culture, design, and street style: from the energy of Tokyo's neighborhoods to the calm of Kyoto's workshops, from the prints of vintage textiles to the silhouettes of modern streetwear. We translate that inspiration into clothing designed for daily wear, anywhere in the world.

Our pieces are produced through manufacturing partners in Asia who share our standards for quality and craft. The exact composition of each piece is listed on its product page and inner label.

We don't sell an origin. We share a spirit.

  • When you order from Japan Clothing, here's what you can expect:

    - Transparent pricing: all prices include taxes, no hidden fees, no surprises at delivery.

    - Quality guaranteed: if any piece arrives damaged, defective, or not as described, we'll replace it or refund you in full.
