The black sukajan with a dragon hidden in the dark
This is the subtle dragon in the collection. The back of this sukajan carries a tonal dragon embroidered in dark, muted thread against black, picked out only by scattered red cherry blossom and the play of light on the stitching. Kuro-ryūjin — the black dragon god — revealing itself slowly rather than shouting.
The embroidery is all about restraint. Worked in real relief but in tones close to the black ground, the dragon emerges from the satin-finish shell as the light shifts, with the red sakura adding the only spots of bright colour. - Use a gentle cycle and mild detergent; skip the fabric softener on printed or embroidered pieces
- Do not bleach
- Hang to dry in the shade — avoid the tumble dryer, which is the fastest way to ruin the fit
- Iron on low heat if needed, and always inside out over prints or embroidery
- For anything delicate or unusual, follow the inner label first
