The sukajan ruled by the red god of thunder
Raijin, the thunder god, beats his ring of drums to summon the storm — and on this sukajan he does it in vivid red across the entire back. Embroidered in raised thread with his drums arcing overhead and clouds swirling around him, he's the single dramatic figure that makes this jacket impossible to ignore.
The embroidery is genuine relief work, stitched with the texture and slight sheen of real thread rather than a flat print. The fierce red Raijin stands out boldly against the satin-finish shell, every drum and muscle picked out in detail. It's a back piece built around one powerful character, clean and high-impact.
It's reversible, giving you two grounds for the same god: a calm Beige side in soft cream, and a bold Red side in deep magenta-red — quiet or loud, your call. Both keep the classic sukajan build: a ribbed collar, snap-button front and ribbed cuffs and hem, in a smooth, light satin-finish fabric that drapes rather than stiffens.
It's streetwear with real roots. Born as a post-war Yokosuka souvenir jacket, the sukajan still trades on that mix of craft and attitude — wear it open over a plain white tee and dark denim, let the thunder god dominate, and keep the rest understated. Flip between cream and red as the mood takes you.
This is for the person who wants a bold single-figure sukajan — the red thunder god, embroidered, reversible in cream and red. Wear it over a plain tee and jeans. Available M to XXXL; if you're between sizes, size up for a roomier fit.

Our pieces are cut to Asian sizing, which runs smaller than US sizing — so as a rule, order one size up from your usual size. The exceptions are t-shirts and hoodies, which run true to size, so take your usual size for those. Every product page has its own size chart with exact measurements taken flat, so you can compare against a piece you already own. Still caught between two sizes? Email support@japan-clothing.com and a real person will help you pick the right one.

Materials vary from piece to piece — some are 100% cotton, others polyester, satin-finish, or a blend, depending on the design. You'll find the exact composition in the product description above, and it's always printed on the inner label of the garment itself. When the two ever differ, trust the label.
A little care goes a long way with these pieces. To keep colors deep and fabric intact:
- Machine wash cold, 30°C / 86°F maximum — heat is what fades and shrinks
- Turn the garment inside out and wash with similar colors
- Use a gentle cycle and mild detergent; skip the fabric softener on printed or embroidered pieces
- Do not bleach
- Hang to dry in the shade — avoid the tumble dryer, which is the fastest way to ruin the fit
- Iron on low heat if needed, and always inside out over prints or embroidery
- For anything delicate or unusual, follow the inner label first
Treated right, these pieces hold their shape, color and detail wash after wash.

Japan Clothing is inspired by Japan, not made in Japan — and we'd rather you hear it from us. Every piece draws from Japanese culture, design and street style: the energy of Tokyo's backstreets, the calm of a Kyoto workshop, the prints of vintage textiles, the cut of modern streetwear. We translate that inspiration into clothes built for daily wear, anywhere in the world.
The pieces themselves are produced by manufacturing partners in Asia. The exact composition of each one is listed on its product page and printed on the inner label — no guesswork, no fine print.
We don't sell you an origin. We share a spirit.
