The peacock kimono that runs hot instead of cool
Most peacocks sit on dark or cool grounds; this one runs warm. Kurenai sets the bird's tail across a deep crimson satin-finish ground scattered with white plum blossom, so the peacock's cool turquoise and pink strike against a hot red rather than a black or blue. It's the warmest peacock in the range, and the contrast is the point.
The lightweight, satin-finish fabric gives the crimson a deep sheen and throws the peacock's colours and the white blossom into clear relief. It falls fluid down the long line, carrying the full sweep of the tail. Kurenai is the old word for a deep safflower red, so the name itself flags how rich the colour runs.

- Turn the garment inside out and wash with similar colors
- Use a gentle cycle and mild detergent; skip the fabric softener on printed or embroidered pieces
- Do not bleach
- Hang to dry in the shade — avoid the tumble dryer, which is the fastest way to ruin the fit
- Iron on low heat if needed, and always inside out over prints or embroidery
- For anything delicate or unusual, follow the inner label first
