The pared-back geta with clean black hanao straps
Not every geta needs a pattern. This pair strips the form back to its essentials — a warm brown wooden base, raised on two teeth, topped with plain black hanao straps. No print, no flourish, just the honest shape and the contrast of dark strap against natural wood. Sometimes restraint is the whole point.
The base is classic geta: a lightweight wooden platform, grain running across the top, lifted on the two supporting teeth that have defined the sandal for centuries. The natural brown finish keeps it earthy and versatile, and rubber under each tooth gives grip on any modern surface.

- Machine wash cold, 30°C / 86°F maximum — heat is what fades and shrinks
- Turn the garment inside out and wash with similar colors
- Use a gentle cycle and mild detergent; skip the fabric softener on printed or embroidered pieces
- Do not bleach
- Hang to dry in the shade — avoid the tumble dryer, which is the fastest way to ruin the fit
- Iron on low heat if needed, and always inside out over prints or embroidery
- For anything delicate or unusual, follow the inner label first
