The waves cap with a nami pattern that never stops
Long before Hokusai, Japan was obsessed with waves. The nami motif — stylized, rhythmic, endlessly repeating — runs through textiles, ceramics and family crests, a pattern that turns the sea's motion into something you can hold still on cloth. It signals resilience and the constant pull of the tide.
This cap carries an embroidered wave design on the front, the curling crests worked in thread so the rhythm reads in relief rather than flat ink. It's a pattern with deep roots, stitched cleanly enough to wear every day. The stitch sits raised against the twill, catching light where a flat print would simply lie there dull.
Four colorways: Light Blue to echo the water, Stone for an earthy calm, White to brighten the crests, Black to make them graphic. The cap stays soft, low and unstructured. The pattern runs across the front so the rhythm carries rather than sitting as a single badge, and the soft unstructured crown keeps the motion flowing instead of stiffening into a logo.
