The sukajan where the wind and thunder gods do battle
Two of the most dramatic figures in Japanese myth meet on the back of this sukajan: Fūjin, the green god of wind with his billowing bag of gales, and Raijin, the god of thunder ringed by his drums. Embroidered in dense, raised thread across the whole back, they turn a souvenir jacket into a piece of folklore you can wear.
The embroidery is the real thing — stitched in relief, with the slight sheen and texture of true thread work, not a flat print. Set against the lustrous satin-finish shell, the two yokai gods read rich and three-dimensional, every coil of cloud and curl of flame catching the light. It's the kind of back piece that stops people on the street.
This is a reversible jacket, so you effectively get two looks in one: a bold Red side with warm orange tones, and a calmer White side in cream — same gods, completely different mood. Both share the classic sukajan build: a ribbed collar, snap-button front and ribbed cuffs and hem, in a smooth, light satin-finish fabric that drapes rather than stiffens.
It's pure streetwear heritage. The sukajan was born in post-war Yokosuka as a souvenir jacket, and it still carries that rebel-meets-craft energy — wear it open over a plain white tee and dark denim, let the embroidery do everything, and keep the rest simple. Flip it from red to white depending on the day.
This is for the person who wants a real statement sukajan — wind and thunder gods, hand-style embroidery, two colourways in one reversible jacket. Wear it over a plain tee and jeans. Available M to XXXL; if you're between sizes, size up for a roomier fit.

Japan Clothing is inspired by Japan, not made in Japan — and we want you to know it. Every piece in our collection draws from Japanese culture, design, and street style: from the energy of Tokyo's neighborhoods to the calm of Kyoto's workshops, from the prints of vintage textiles to the silhouettes of modern streetwear. We translate that inspiration into clothing designed for daily wear, anywhere in the world.
Our pieces are produced through manufacturing partners in Asia who share our standards for quality and craft. The exact composition of each piece is listed on its product page and inner label.
We don't sell an origin. We share a spirit.
