The haori split between midnight blue and electric bloom
This one plays with contrast in a way most haori don't. The women's haori sets a deep midnight-blue ground against a panel of electric magenta and violet florals, with a pink-tinged crane gliding across the seam between them. It's two moods in one jacket — calm and cool on one side, hot and blooming on the other — and the join is where it gets interesting.
That near-asymmetric layout keeps the print from feeling like wallpaper. The blue sections carry stylised waves and quieter detail; the magenta sections erupt with peonies and foliage. The crane bridges the two, so your eye travels across the whole piece rather than landing on one spot. It's a print designed to be seen in motion, which suits an open layer perfectly.
As an open-front haori it drapes instead of fastening. The lightweight fabric falls softly, the wide three-quarter sleeves give it the kimono line, and worn open the contrasting panels frame your base layer on either side. No closures, no structure to fight — it simply hangs and moves with you.
Styling rewards simplicity. A plain dark base lets the blue-to-magenta shift read as the design feature it is; keep the trousers and shoes quiet and let the colour transition carry the look. It's striking enough for an evening out and easy enough to pull over a tee on an ordinary day.
This is for the person drawn to colour contrast and a print with movement rather than a single repeated motif — a layer that feels designed, not just decorated. Wear it open over a plain tee or top with dark bottoms and simple shoes. The free-size cut sits true to size with a relaxed, open drape.

Japan Clothing is inspired by Japan, not made in Japan — and we want you to know it. Every piece in our collection draws from Japanese culture, design, and street style: from the energy of Tokyo's neighborhoods to the calm of Kyoto's workshops, from the prints of vintage textiles to the silhouettes of modern streetwear. We translate that inspiration into clothing designed for daily wear, anywhere in the world.
Our pieces are produced through manufacturing partners in Asia who share our standards for quality and craft. The exact composition of each piece is listed on its product page and inner label.
We don't sell an origin. We share a spirit.
