The haori with a dragon coiling through midnight water

The dragon rules water, weather and fortune in Japanese myth — a protector rather than a monster. This dragon haori sends a long silver-scaled dragon coiling across a midnight-blue ground, winding through stylised waves with a pale sun behind it. Cool, deep and a little mythic, it's the kind of piece that looks powerful without shouting.

The palette is what gives it class. Silvers and soft blues over that deep navy ground keep it tonal and elegant — the dragon emerges from the waves rather than sitting on top of them, so the whole back reads as one flowing scene. It's dramatic, but in a controlled, grown-up way; there's no neon, no clutter, just movement and depth.

As an open-front haori it's built to drape and layer. The light fabric falls cleanly, the wide three-quarter sleeves carry the kimono line, and worn open the dragon winds across the back while the waves trail onto the sleeves and panels. No fastening to interrupt the flow — it hangs loose and moves as you do.

That deep blue is genuinely versatile. A white tee makes the silver dragon glint; an all-dark outfit turns it tonal and moody. The restrained palette means it slots into an everyday wardrobe and crosses from casual to smart easily — it has presence without ever becoming fancy dress.

This is for the person who wants the dragon in an elegant, mythic register — power and protection rendered in cool blues rather than fire and fury. Wear it open over a tee with dark trousers or denim and clean shoes. The free-size cut sits true to size with a relaxed, open drape.

Good to know

  • Our pieces are cut to Asian sizing, which runs smaller than US sizing — so as a rule, order one size up from your usual size. The exceptions are t-shirts and hoodies, which run true to size, so take your usual size for those. Every product page has its own size chart with exact measurements taken flat, so you can compare against a piece you already own. Still caught between two sizes? Email support@japan-clothing.com and a real person will help you pick the right one.

  • Materials vary from piece to piece — some are 100% cotton, others polyester, satin-finish, or a blend, depending on the design. You'll find the exact composition in the product description above, and it's always printed on the inner label of the garment itself. When the two ever differ, trust the label.

A little care goes a long way with these pieces. To keep colors deep and fabric intact:

    • Machine wash cold, 30°C / 86°F maximum — heat is what fades and shrinks
    • Turn the garment inside out and wash with similar colors
    • Use a gentle cycle and mild detergent; skip the fabric softener on printed or embroidered pieces
    • Do not bleach
    • Hang to dry in the shade — avoid the tumble dryer, which is the fastest way to ruin the fit
    • Iron on low heat if needed, and always inside out over prints or embroidery
    • For anything delicate or unusual, follow the inner label first

Treated right, these pieces hold their shape, color and detail wash after wash.

  • Delivery. We ship worldwide, directly from our manufacturing partners in Asia. Most orders arrive within 7–15 business days, depending on where you are. If your order hasn't arrived within 30 days, we'll make it right — a full refund or a replacement, your call.

Tracking. As soon as your order ships, you'll get an email with a tracking link, so you can follow your package the whole way. Lost track of it? Email support@japan-clothing.com and we'll check for you.

Returns. You have 30 days from delivery to return an item for a full refund, exchange or store credit. Returns are free worldwide — we cover the return shipping. Just email us and we'll send you a prepaid label.

  • All prices include taxes — what you see is what you pay, with nothing added at checkout. Import duties are handled on our end, so for the vast majority of orders you won't pay a thing on delivery. And in the rare case a fee does slip through, we cover it — just email support@japan-clothing.com and we'll take care of it.

  • Japan Clothing is inspired by Japan, not made in Japan — and we'd rather you hear it from us. Every piece draws from Japanese culture, design and street style: the energy of Tokyo's backstreets, the calm of a Kyoto workshop, the prints of vintage textiles, the cut of modern streetwear. We translate that inspiration into clothes built for daily wear, anywhere in the world.

The pieces themselves are produced by manufacturing partners in Asia. The exact composition of each one is listed on its product page and printed on the inner label — no guesswork, no fine print.

We don't sell you an origin. We share a spirit.

  • When you order from Japan Clothing, here's what you can count on:

    • Transparent pricing. All prices include taxes — no hidden fees, no surprises at delivery.
    • Quality guaranteed. If a piece arrives damaged, defective or not as described, we'll replace it or refund you in full.
    • Easy returns. 30 days from delivery, with free return shipping — exchange, store credit or refund, your choice.
    • Privacy respected. Your personal data stays with us. We never sell, share or rent it — full details in our Privacy Policy.
    • Real human support. Every email is answered by an actual person, usually within 24 hours.

If anything feels off with your order or your experience, email support@japan-clothing.com — we'll make it right.
