The tee that wears Musashi like an old woodblock print
Miyamoto Musashi, the undefeated swordsman, is the closest thing Japan has to a martial legend. This old Japanese t-shirt renders him in the style of a faded ukiyo-e woodblock: the armoured warrior before a pagoda, under bold MUSASHI lettering, all aged tones on a light ground. It's history styled as antique art rather than modern graphic.
The back print sets the swordsman and pagoda in muted, vintage colours with a worn, printed-on-old-paper finish. The woodblock-poster styling is what gives it character — it reads like a collected print rather than a fresh tee, with fine detail in the figure and architecture.
An aged, warm graphic on a light base is easy to build around — it pairs with denim and neutrals effortlessly. It comes in white, americano, apricot and slate. Materials vary from piece to piece — some are 100% cotton, others polyester, satin-finish, or a blend, depending on the design. You'll find the exact composition in the product description above, and it's always printed on the inner label of the garment itself. When the two ever differ, trust the label.
A little care goes a long way with these pieces. To keep colors deep and fabric intact:
- Machine wash cold, 30°C / 86°F maximum — heat is what fades and shrinks
- Turn the garment inside out and wash with similar colors
- Use a gentle cycle and mild detergent; skip the fabric softener on printed or embroidered pieces
- Do not bleach
- Hang to dry in the shade — avoid the tumble dryer, which is the fastest way to ruin the fit
- Iron on low heat if needed, and always inside out over prints or embroidery
- For anything delicate or unusual, follow the inner label first
