The white umbrella drawn in cool porcelain-blue peonies
This umbrella borrows the look of fine blue-and-white porcelain. Across a clean white paper canopy, peonies bloom in layered shades of cobalt and pale blue, gathering at the top and bottom of the dome, with a column of fine characters brushed down one side. The effect is crisp, graphic and quietly refined.
The blossoms are rendered in the tonal blue style of classic ceramics — deep cobalt for the shadows, soft washes for the petals — so each peony reads with real depth against the bright white ground. The vertical characters add a calligraphic balance, framing the flowers like a brushed inscription. The restrained two-color scheme gives the whole canopy a calm, collected feel.
It's a traditional wagasa, built with a paper canopy stretched over slender bamboo ribs that fan out from a red-painted central hub. Held overhead, the white paper glows and the blue peonies stand out sharp and clean, like a painted porcelain bowl turned to the sky.
The porcelain-inspired palette makes it a versatile decorative piece, suited to photography, traditional dress, tea ceremonies or display. As a ceremonial parasol rather than a rain umbrella, it's meant to be carried, twirled and admired.
Built on a bamboo handle with an 80 cm canopy and a light 250 g body, it's crafted in the traditional way with an eco-minded approach. A blue-and-white parasol for anyone who loves the calm beauty of classic ceramic patterns.
Held against the light, the cobalt peonies sharpen and the white paper glows like fine glazed ceramic, a look that photographs beautifully and pairs naturally with formal dress. Reserved for dry-weather occasions and handled gently, the parasol keeps its crisp porcelain charm for years of careful, dry-weather use.

Japan Clothing is inspired by Japan, not made in Japan — and we want you to know it. Every piece in our collection draws from Japanese culture, design, and street style: from the energy of Tokyo's neighborhoods to the calm of Kyoto's workshops, from the prints of vintage textiles to the silhouettes of modern streetwear. We translate that inspiration into clothing designed for daily wear, anywhere in the world.
Our pieces are produced through manufacturing partners in Asia who share our standards for quality and craft. The exact composition of each piece is listed on its product page and inner label.
We don't sell an origin. We share a spirit.
